Chotto Matte recently reopened its covered 135-seat patio in Toronto’s financial district, and announced a new brunch concept—Jungle Brunch—beginning Saturday, July 10. A unique destination for Nikkei cuisine, Chotto Matte brings together the best of Japanese and Peruvian cultures paired with vibrant flavours, sophisticated cocktails, and lively music.
“It has been a long wait, but we are delighted to have finally reopened our doors and welcome our Chotto Matte community back into our space, offering them an experience they will not forget,” says Kurt Zdesar, founder and owner of Chotto Matte and NZR Group. (The restaurant opened in Toronto in 2019.)
Jungle Brunch will see a curated lineup of entertainment including acrobats, aerial artists and Peruvian-meets-modern electro beats. Adding to the atmosphere, a multi-sensory world will be brought to life by way of luscious green décor, body-painted performers, costume-clad entertainers, and other surprises.

A choice of one main includes Pollo Picante (chicken topped with red and yellow anticucho, yuzu juice and chives), a medley of perfectly prepared Vegetable Tempura or Asado De Tira (slow-cooked BBQ beef with purple potato purée, teriyaki jus and chives). The menu also includes a choice of side and desserts, and a bottomless option includes unlimited beer, sparkling wine and expertly crafted cocktails. “Bottomless brunch” is $110 per person (not including taxes and gratuities), with reservations for two-hour seatings available from noon to 4pm, every Saturday.
